Diklo Residence

Nestled into a high density beachfront district of Zadar, Croatia, this residential architecture responds sensitively to site and climate. Mostly closed on three sides bordering the adjacent plots, the building’s southern face opens up completely towards uninterrupted sea views. The fully glazed façade is recessed in shade beneath a generous terrace running across the entire southern face. The exterior cladding in local white limestone reflects the sun’s heat, while acting as a canvas for the sun’s colour spectrum, from warm white dawns to orange-pink sunsets.
