Christie's London
Viktor Udzenija has been invited by international auction house Christie's to curate the inaugural design section of the Middle Easter Modern and Contemporary art auction which celebrates its 15th season in November 2020. For this sale Udzenija has presented a diverse selection of ten contemporary design works by an impressive roster of extremely talented regional designers. The works included established designers like David and Nicolas (Lebanon) and Hassan Hajjaj (Morocco) to up and coming names like Ammar Kalo (UAE) who's work is in the Smithsonian museum collection. The sale was crowned by a major work by Ranya Sarakbi (Lebanon), the Ouroboros, an 11 meter long articulated snake eating its tail made out of sixteen thousand hand assembled cast bronze scales, with a sale price resulting in a world record for a designer from the region.
